The Mindful Motherhood Training is an eight-week meditation and yoga-based program for pregnant women and new mothers. Drawing from other popular mindfulness-based trainings such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, it was developed at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and California Pacific Medical Center's Research Institute in San Francisco as a behavioral intervention to reduce stress, improve mood, and encourage healthy behaviors and self–care, and to enhance attachment/bonding between mothers and their infants, during pregnancy and postpartum.
